GASTRONOMICAL DAY UNTIL THE ANDARES

HOSTEMUR, HEALTH AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF LORCA ORGANIZE THE GASTRONOMICAL DAY `UNTIL THE ANDARES’

The Regional Federation of Industralists of the Hotel trade and Tourism (Hostemur), the council of Health and Consumption, the city council of Lorca and the National Week of Pig Cattle SEPOR jointly organize the nutritional and gastronomical Day “Until andares”, that will be celebrated in Lorca next the 13 of September. This initiative tries to give to know kindness the pig meat and their values nutritional, as well as to break the belief that the meat of white pig is detrimental for the health.

The day will count on the communications of the head on watch of Nourishing Security and Zoonosis of the Main directorate of Public Health, Blas Marsilla; and the doctor in Chemical Sciences and member of the Scientific Committee of the Forum Interalimentario, Jose Flowers. Later, a total of six cooks of the Region of Murcia will present/display diverse plates made with meat of white pig, like the hands of pig in sauce, brick of estofada carrilera, the sirloin of pig, milhojas of spine or the crisp one of bacon, among others.

The point and end to this day will put the Contest to the best Regional cover Sepor 2010, where to bars and restaurants of the Region will be able to participate, in which will designate to the best cover offerer among all the participant establishments. A gastronomical initiative that will agree with the celebration of the XLIII Cattle and Agro-industrial Fair, that will be developed in the Fairground of Santa Quiteria de Lorca from the 13 to the 16 of September.

Gastronomical week
Paralelamente, the Association of Restaurants of the Region of Murcia, including in Hostemur, will celebrate from the 6 to the 19 of September one week gastronomical in more than half hundred of establishments of the Region, in which the restauradores will offer to the clients menus to which protagonism will fall on the white pig. According to the president of Hostemur, Solitude Diaz, “the regional hotel trade renders cultured to the pig, since it has become in center of the regional cooking universe”, indicated.

On the other hand, the chief of a main directorate of Public Health, Francisco Garci’a, affirmed that the pig meat has “manifolds benefits for the health because it contributes to the proteins of greater biological value and antioxidants, besides being very rich in essential minerals, iron and fatty acids”. The chief of a main directorate emphasized the presence of Hostemur in this event because “she is an organization who implies directly to the premises of restoration, like key pieces to spread to good nutritional habits and the advantages of the Mediterranean diet”.

Finally, the councilman of Woman, Health and Consumption of the city council of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, affected the importance “of obtaining healthy foods and safe for the consumers and the quality of foods, basic pieces of the nourishing chain”, explained.
